<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Gripping Sophomore Novel from a Rising Historical Romance Talent<br /><br />With Britain caught up in WWI, Jack Benningham, heir to the Earl of Stonebrooke, has declared himself a conscientious objector. Instead, he secretly works for the Crown by tracking down German spies on British soil, his wild reputation and society status serving as a foolproof cover.<br /><br />Blinded by patriotism and concern for her brother on the front lines, wealthy suffragette Grace Mabry will do whatever it takes to assist her country's cause. When she sneaks into a posh London masquerade ball to hand out white feathers of cowardice, she never imagines the chain of events she'll set off when she hands a feather to Jack. <br /><br />And neither of them could anticipate the extent of the danger and betrayal that follows them--or the faith they'll need to maintain hope.</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><b><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">I had the pleasure of reading Kate Breslin's debut novel For Such A Time, and was really impressed with her lovely writing style and intriguing plot! I was was excited for the release of her second novel, Not by Sight, and enjoyed reading it!</span></span><i> </i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I feel like I enjoyed For Such A Time a bit more than Not by Sight, mainly due to the the theme/plot, but still greatly enjoyed this new story. In some ways the characters reminded me of those in The Phantom of the Opera, which I'm sure the author probably used for inspiration when writing this novel. I think I enjoyed the first novel since I really enjoy war time novels and the Holocust which really tugs at my heart strings. This novel is also a war-time novel, but in a different setting and place. While the debut novel is set during World War II, Not by Sight in set during World War I. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I found the story-line and plot quite promising, however I felt as if maybe the story dragged along at points. While it was intriguing and exciting, I felt like there might could have been more happening. I guess it really depends on you personal preference. However I did really enjoy seeing the character development throughout the novel, especially with Clare. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I enjoyed this novel, and while not a favorite, still one I'd recommend! I give it 3 out of 5 stars, and would recommend it to war-time novel enthusiasts. </div>

<i>Katharina von Bora, a runaway nun, finds shelter with Martin Luther a munk, who helps her to find homes to work for and live in. Martin Luther helps her to rebuild her life after the only one she's ever known as a nun, and much to the discouragement of others, promotes nuns leaving their solitary lives to get married and start families of their own. As time progresses this is made obvious as he grows fond of Katharina, and she of him. The marry, and work together as a team to begin the protestant reformation to further the name of Christ, providing a prime example of marriage and working together for the Lord.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've always had a deep fascination with Martin Luther, and his story! Being a Reformed Presbyterian, Martin Luther is a huge part of my church history, and I always enjoy any opportunity to learn more about him and his life!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Prior to reading this book, I honestly didn't know much about Katharina von Bora Luther. I'd heard about her, and knew of her as the Reformer Martin Luther's wife; but aside from that I didn't know much else. I was so excited to read this book, and found that Katharina and Martin Luther's love story was so fascinating and interesting!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jody Hedlund has always been one of my favorite historical fiction authors because of all the research she puts into each novel. I always feel like I not only enjoy a great, exciting story, but also learn the equivalent of a history lesson in a non-boring setting! I certainly wasn't disappointed with this novel of hers, and was so excited to get to learn the Luther's story! I'd definitely recommend this novel to all fans of historical fiction, as well as those interested in the Protestant Reformation and Martin Luther!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyone who has been reading my book reviews for a while now, will know that Karen Witemeyer is hands-down one of my favorite authors, and has been for some time. So obviously I was rather thrilled when I learned she had a new book coming out, and eagerly read it as soon as I received it in the mail! I'm so glad that I did, as this book is a very exciting one that I'm glad to be adding to my collection of Karen's books, in their designated place on my shelf.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Karen Witemeyer is known for her fun-loving, western themed novels, full of strong female characters and a humorous western feel, and this book didn't fall short of those standards! This book definitely had those traits that I've come to love in Witemeyer's writing style, and I absolutely enjoyed every page of this novel! Due to a very busy schedule with my work, I wasn't sure how quickly I'd be able to finish this book, but I quickly found that I had the hardest time putting it down, which is always a plus! The story was very funny, and moved along at a steady pace, making me not want to close it! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As always, I fell in love with Witemeyer's characters. I loved how she included some children as main characters in this book, and enjoyed the aspect of the other character's personalities that they brought out. The story itself was very engaging and quite an adventure, sure to please any proud </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Texan with the western theme!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'd highly recommend this book to all fans of Witemeyer's novels, or fans of western historical fiction, as this one is sure to not disappoint!</div>

<i><b><span style="font-size: large;">// Book Review // </span></b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;">I read the first book in the Wars of the Realm series, Cloak of Light and really enjoyed it! Chuck Black is a great christian fiction author, and I've always enjoyed the biblical application he has in all his books!</span><i><b><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the reasons I have enjoyed this series, of the books published so far, is because of how it is based on spiritual warfare, and sheds a new light on angels and their roles. Each book has two point of views, one of angels and spiritual realms, and one of humans on earth. Throughout the story you get to view both sides, that of the angels protecting humans, and that of humans being protected by angels. This theme provided a very interesting outlook, and through the reading of these books I've become more aware of angels and demons, the reality of them and how their roles affect humans. It's been an eye opening journey, and the stories themselves are very exciting and fun, while strengthening your faith. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In addition to the spiritual aspect of this book, the story itself is very well thought out and adventurous! Action packed, the second book is similar to the first book, although I quickly noticed that the second book had more to do with angels than the humans, as it goes back in time and shows the part angels played in important biblical events. However I was expecting it to be more like the first with equal human and angel interaction. Due to this, I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first, but would still recommend it! Especially if you enjoyed the first book!</div>

I loved that aspect of the book, how it was girly since it was somewhat based on fashion, but also had an element of funkiness. The story, though somewhat simple, was extremely funny; and Jen's love for humor definitely shined through the story, and kept it fun. <i>"<span id="freeText8093746880006308307">Irene and Rand come from very different walks of life. Will they find common ground in their fight to survive? <br /><br />Irene
has grown up in the jungle as a missionary with her Aunt Anita, but now
she and countless others are imprisoned by Japanese soldiers at the
Santo Tomas Internment Camp in the Philippines. Irene and her aunt are
safe there, and she keeps busy with her duty of delivering censored
messages to the camp’s prisoners, but like everyone else, she prays for

another in the hospital, Irene learns more of his story and her heart is
determined to save his family. But the danger outside the walls of the

<span style="font-size: large;"><i><b>Book Review </b></i></span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been a big fan of Liz Tolsma's previous two novels, and was very excited for the release of her newest novel, Remember the Lilies! While it wasn't my favorite of her novels, I still really enjoyed this sweet war time novel, and would highly recommend it!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Liz Tolsma just has a way with war-time novels. This is certainly what spiked my interest in her novels, and after reading her first one I was immediately on the look-out for more of her novels; and read them as soon as they were released. You can definitely tell that this time period is her forte, and it shows through her writing! Her characters are always so strong and honorable, and the stories are always so sweet and tender - and this novel is no exception! She just has a certain ability to so tenderly display the time period, and the people who lived during them on the page, in a way that moves and inspires.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All in all, this was a very good read. The romance was sweet yet clean, and the story was exciting and had meaning. The characters were strong and very exemplary, and you felt as if you knew them. Any fans of WWII fiction should get their hands on this book!</div>

Since the main characters in this series are all related, this series can be read either in order or alone, which is something I liked. If you'd read the previous books then some of the characters you'll already be familiar with, but if not you can still enjoy and understand the story, enjoying it alone.</span></div>

<span id="freeText16252863954912396100">Sabotaged was a very action packed book, which is what fans of Dani Pettrey have come to expect and enjoy in her novels. The whole story takes place in a short period of time, making the story read very true to actual time. It made the book overall very easy to read, and one that would be considered a quicker read because of how the story was constantly moving. I was able to read the whole book in two sittings just because of how the story flowed and was easy to read. Some books are just quicker reads by nature, and this one is definitely one that I'd put in that category, making it a good weekend read.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="freeText16252863954912396100">This novel was one I knew would be a fun, quick read due to the suspenseful theme. The story was very fast and was constantly moving, however I felt there was an element of the story that I just wasn't connecting with. While the suspense was there and kept me reading, I felt like for some reason the story didn't grip me in the way I would have liked considering the mystery aspect of the novel. While I did enjoy the suspense, I didn't feel like it really had that suspenseful factor that keeps me on the edge of my seat. There were several scenes that were so short, or had no transition and changed so quick that I didn't really understand what was going on, and at times these scenes were confusing. I knew that these scenes were important to the plot and contained pieces of the mystery puzzle, but they happened so fast with so little details that I felt rather lost and confused. I especially felt this way about the ending, which in my opinion happened too fast.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="freeText16252863954912396100"><br /></span></div>

<span id="freeText16252863954912396100">While there were scenes where I felt like the story didn't really grip me, I did enjoy the character development in this story. It was interested seeing the characters and their pasts, and how that effected the story and how they acted in certain situations. The thread of redemption and fresh starts was a nice addition to the plot, and it was nice to have this dimension added to the story.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been a big fan of Elizabeth Camden's novels for a while now, and was very excited to hear that she had a new novel coming out, titled <i>Beyond All Dreams</i>! I was even more excited to find out that the heroine of the story, Anna worked at the Library of Congress! As a fan of books and libraries, I knew right off the bat that I'd have something in common with this character, and would probably enjoy the book even more because of it.<i> </i>While my favorite Camden novels still remain <i>The Rose of Winslow Street</i> and <i>With Every Breath</i>, I still enjoyed the story and loved the setting!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the things that really sets apart Elizabeth Camden's novels from others, is her ability to create such realistic, likable characters and bring them to life on the paper. I love the way she takes a hero or heroine and really develops that character throughout the story. I feel like not all novels do such a good job at character development, but Camden has this aspect of writing down! Some novels seem to focus more on the setting of the story versus on the actual characters, and you can tell that Camden puts a lot of development into her stories by really expanding on the characters. It's always fun first learning about the characters, and then seeing how they mature and grow throughout the book, and Camden's novels don't disappoint in this area!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I mentioned earlier, I just loved how this novel's heroine works at the Library of Congress! It was so interesting seeing that side of her story, as well as the plot that Camden so masterfully wove into the other characters. The story she tells in the pages of this book are so well thought-out and written, and it makes for a really pleasurable read that I'm sure all fans of libraries, or Camden's work, will be trilled with! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I loved how this story had a mild amount of mystery mixed into the love story between Anna and Luke. I feel like it definitely helped keep the story rolling, and on top of the wonderful writing ability that Camden obviously has, it makes you keep turning pages long into the night! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall I was very pleased with this novel and really enjoyed the opportunity to read it! I will be adding this book to my shelf, right alongside my other Camden novels; and look forward to her future releases!</div>

<i><b> </b>Retailers Choice Award winner, 2012 Abby Johnson quit her job in October 2009. That simple act became a national news story because Abby was the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas who, after participating in her first actual abortion procedure, walked across the road to join the Coalition for Life. "Unplanned" is a heart stopping personal drama of life-and-death encounters, a courtroom battle, and spiritual transformation that speaks hope and compassion into the political controversy that surrounds this issue. Telling Abby's story from both sides of the abortion clinic property line, this book is a must-read for anyone who cares about the life versus rights debate and helping women who face crisis pregnancies.</i></div>

I was able to watch the <a href="http://www.unplannedthebook.com/index.php/the-documentary/" target="_blank">Unplanned documentary</a> a while back, and was inspired and encouraged by Abby Johnson's story. When I realized she had written a book about her experience working at Planned Parenthood and then quitting after the Lord revealed to her that abortion is wrong; I was very eager to read it! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Abby Johnson's story, told in this book, is such an encouraging and inspiring one. One that proved that truth will always prevail. Even though I have been pro-life and stand firm in this decision, I was blessed by hearing both "sides" of the story. Reading about Abby Johnson's story really helped me to think about this issue, and look at it in a way that I'd never looked at it before. Since Abby Johnson has been on both sides of the debate, I think that she is such an excellent tool that the Lord has been using to teach both sides. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really enjoyed reading about Abby's story, and reading about how the Lord opened her eyes to the atrocities that went on in the building that she managed. It was so encouraging and moving just to see Abby's raw honesty in this book. I really appreciate how she put all the briers down and told her story as honestly as possible. This is one of those books that makes you think, and makes you stronger as a person. I'm so glad for the opportunity to have read it. No matter where you stand on the issue of abortion, I think that everyone should read this book.</div>

<i>"A twenty-first-century doctor travels back in time to third-century Carthage to rescue her husband, but the arrival of a deadly epidemic forces her to make an impossible choice in this fast-paced second novel in The Carthage Chronicles series. </i><br />
<i><br />Dr. Lisbeth Hastings salvaged two things from her accidental trip to the third century: her mother's stethoscope and her child. Making a life for her daughter Maggie back in the present is difficult, but returning to ancient Carthage is impossible. However, when Lisbeth learns her husband is slated to die a martyr's death, she must find a way around the impossible to save him. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br />Cyprian Thascius returns from political exile a broken man. He's lost his faith, the love of his life, and his purpose. When Ruth, an old friend, proposes he marry her to restore his position and protect his estate, the disgraced nobleman accepts. But when Cyprian's true love suddenly reappears, his heart becomes as imperiled as the fledgling church. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br />As Lisbeth and Cyprian reunite to battle a new epidemic and save the oppressed community of Christians, the chasm between the two of them seems too wide to bridge. But when Maggie contracts typhoid, Lisbeth must choose: stay and save the man she loves, or return home and save her daughter? </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br />Filled with gripping action and raw emotion, this incredibly compelling adventure of star-crossed lovers will keep you engrossed with every turn of the page."</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really enjoyed reading the first book in The Carthage Chronicles, and was eager for the release of its sequel, <i>Return to Exile</i>. The idea of having a 21st century doctor go back in time to ancient Carthage was one that I thought had great potential, and was very unique. However, sadly I think that I enjoyed the first book in this series, <i>Healer of Carthage</i> a lot more than I enjoyed <i>Return to Exile</i>. <br /> </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've always been a fan of historical fiction that involves time travel, and always jump at the chance to read these kinds of books, since there aren't many out there. However I felt like there was just something that didn't work for me with this novel. I read the first 50 or so pages and the story just didn't seem to be going anywhere. I felt like the exciting part of the story should have already started (which would the the main character finally going back to ancient Carthage). I quickly became disinterested in the story, making it very hard for me to complete the novel having given it my full attention. I was sad that this is the way I reacted to the story, as I had hopes that I'd enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the first story. While the story did pick up after a while, I felt like by the time it did, I had already lost interest.<br /><br />Despite the fact that I had a hard time getting "into" the story, I did enjoy reading the parts that did got exciting, although I felt like they were few and far between. While there weren't many parts that I felt really kept my interest, I will say that the few ones that did were really unexpected and really surprised me! I enjoyed the historical details of this story, and seeing the main character and how her lives were different in both time periods. It was neat continuing her story, I just wish it would have grabbed my attention more. However I by no means want to discourage anyone from giving this novel a try! Fans of historical fiction with time travel interwoven should check out this series!</div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have really been looking forward to reading this book. Jody Hedlund is one of my go-to authors for a good read every time. She is consistent with her writing and has an interesting and unique style. I have read several of her books and loved every one of them. This story in particular stuck out to me because of the moral aspect of it. Patrick was is a former criminal that turned his life around and is raising his son, Josiah. He is a kind hearted man with a haunting past. He just wants the best for his family, but things keep going from bad to worse. Emma considers herself and old spinster and is overjoyed at the aspect of a ready made family. These two have a lot of things to work through and a lot of bridges to burn, but with God's help they can accomplish any feat. I loved all the strong characters and the plot was well thought out and executed. My only complaint is that there could have been a little bit more excitement. It was not boring by any means, and I had no trouble staying interested in what I was reading, but I think a little bit more action would have greatly enhanced the book overall. That being said, I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more novels by Jody Hedlund. </div>

<i> "Julie Klassen Is the Top Name in Inspirational regency Romance <br /><br />Abigail Foster fears she will end up a spinster, especially as she has little dowry to improve her charms and the one man she thought might marry her--a longtime friend--has fallen for her younger, prettier sister. <br />When financial problems force her family to sell their London home, a strange solicitor arrives with an astounding offer: the use of a distant manor house abandoned for eighteen years. The Fosters journey to imposing Pembrooke Park and are startled to find it entombed as it was abruptly left: tea cups encrusted with dry tea, moth-eaten clothes in wardrobes, a doll's house left mid-play . . . <br /><br />The handsome local curate welcomes them, but though he and his family seem to know something about the manor's past, the only information they offer Abigail is a warning: Beware trespassers who may be drawn by rumors that Pembrooke contains a secret room filled with treasure. <br /><br />Hoping to improve her family's financial situation, Abigail surreptitiously searches for the hidden room, but the arrival of anonymous letters addressed to her, with clues about the room and the past, bring discoveries even more startling. It's no secret that Julie Klassen is one of my all-time favorite authors. However her last release <i>The Dancing Master</i> was a bit of a disappointment for me, so I was hoping that <i>The Secret of Pembrooke Park</i> would really bring back that Klassen wow factor-and it did!<i> </i>If you have been a fan of any of Klassen's books then you have to get your hands on this new one! You won't want to miss it!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I just adored everything about this novel-the mystery, regency era, old mansion full of secrets, the characters, romance, and plot! Everything was so masterfully placed together, and I was constantly surprised and delighted while reading this book. Even though it's nearly 500 pages I continuously flipped through pages without realizing the length. This is one of those rare books that I can actually truly say that I didn't want it to end! I just felt such a connection with the characters, and I found the story and characters were constantly in my thoughts even when I wasn't reading the book. For sure and certain, this is a 2014 favorite!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Like I mentioned earlier, <i>The Dancing Master</i>, which released last December was a bit of a disappointment for me. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It just didn't have that Julie Klassen wow factor that I've come to admire. So, I didn't really get my hopes up for this novel. However I was pleasantly shocked when reading this book! The plot was so intriguing and the story flowed so smoothly. The mystery was very prevalent (which I really liked, as it's hard to find regency novels that have a lot of mystery instead of just a little sprinkled throughout) and was constantly leaving me in suspense of the next page. The romance between the main character and the two love interests was very well written and interesting. I loved how Klassen weaved such an intricate story in such a flawless way. If you are a fan on regency romance then you will not want to miss this book! </div>

<i>"Margaretha has always been a romantic, and hopes her newest suitor, Lord Claybrook, is destined to be her one true love. But then an injured man is brought to Hagenheim Castle, claiming to be an English lord who was attacked by Claybrook and left for dead. And only Margaretha---one of the few who speaks his language---understands the wild story. Margaretha finds herself unable to pass Colin's message along to her father, the duke, and convinces herself 'Lord Colin' is just an addled stranger. Then Colin retrieves an heirloom she lost in a well, and asks her to spy on Claybrook as repayment. Margaretha knows she could never be a spy---not only is she unable to keep anything secret, she's sure Colin is completely wrong about her potential betrothed. Though when Margaretha overhears Claybrook one day, she discovers her romantic notions may have been clouding her judgment about not only Colin but Claybrook as well. It is up to her to save her father and Hagenheim itself from Claybrook's wicked plot."</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">I've been a big fan on Melanie Dickerson's fairy tale re-tellings for some time now, and had eagerly been looking forward to the release of her newest release <i>The Princess Spy</i>. Dickerson's newest release doesn't disappoint, and weaves an exciting story sure to thrill and delight fans of heroic tales.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">This exciting young adult novel is very engaging and flowed very well. There weren't any dry patches, and the story was consistent and adventurous. I quickly fell in love with the characters, and especially enjoyed learning more about Colin and his past, and how his story wove into Margaretha's. The story was well written and I loved how it ended! </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Margaretha's character was one I really admired. She was strong and courageous, and possessed a very mature and trustful quality that really shinned throughout the story. I especially loved how towards the end of the story, she really trusted the Lord with her current situation and didn't fret when most people would have. It was interested seeing her help Colin, and I loved the way that their relationship bettered the both of them; and how their working together brought such fruitful results. I loved how they worked together to benefit others and their relationship was an inspiring one. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Since this book is a young adult one, it is very easy to read and not one that involves a lot of thinking or processing, making for a very fun, quick read. I loved the fairy-tale aspect, though I couldn't quite place the original story that was being re-told, if there was a specific one (though I'm sure I could have missed it due to my lack of fairy-tale knowledge). Even so, it was still a very interesting story that I thought to be very heartfelt and sweet.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">I'd highly recommend this book to fans of fairy-tales. Melanie Dickerson's novels are very unique, even though they are based on well-known classics, and a real treat for young readers and adults alike! If you are looking for a fun weekend read full of heroic princes and strong heroines then look no further!</span></span></div>

Struggling at every turn, Emma also suspects Patrick may be keeping something hidden from her. In town she hears whispers about strange circumstances surrounding his previous wife's death, and it seems as though Emma's answered prayer for a home and family may actually be something much more dangerous."</i></div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;">
<i>Love Unexpected</i>, the first book in the Beacons of Hope series, is a tender story of hope and redemption. Charmingly set in Michigan by the sea and lighthouses, this sweet story is a heart- warming one that is sure to delight and inspire. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
One of my favorite parts of this story was the setting and characters. There is just something very calming about lighthouses; and the tenderness of the storyline combined with the backdrop made for a very pleasurable read, which I thoroughly enjoyed. While reading this book, I could almost feel the sea spraying on my face, and feel the wind blowing my hair. I easily got into the story and connected with the characters. The story was so sweet and endearing, and I loved reading Patrick and Emma's story.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Each of the characters were meaningful, and I'd have to say that my favorite was Patrick's son Josiah. I've always particularly enjoyed stories where the story has a young child, as it really helps bring the characters personalities out. I think this was especially true for Patrick and Emma. Josiah had such a huge part in bringing out the other characters personalities, and I loved seeing him in the story and the warmth and humor that he brought into the novel. I also admired Patrick's character. He was such an honorable person, and I loved learning more about him as the story progressed! The mystery aspect of his past kept me turning pages! </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
The story was very easy to get into, and had a nice mix of tender romance with a hint of mystery. The story flowed very consistently, and there weren't any dry bits that hindered the reading experience. The story line itself was masterfully written, and I loved seeing how the themes of love and redemption came out. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Hedlund's writing style is so easy and fun to read, and I loved how she combined a sweet story that is interesting, with historical bits that added even more to the story. I loved how the story was loosely based on a true story of a light-keeper. I always enjoy stories that are based on real events as they make learning history fun and memorable, and this story is no exception!</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
In all, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to fans of sweet historical fiction! I eagerly await book number two in the Beacons of Hope series!</div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have always had a weakness for sweet southern romances, so when I saw this book I just had to read it. I have read a few other books by this author and I remember really liking them, so I was pretty excited to get this novel in the mail. The first thing I noticed was the cover. The blurry version of the one I included above really doesn't do it justice. It's super cute. Anyway, when I started reading this book I was immediately interested in it and read it in just a few short hours. My favorite character from <em>At Bluebonnet Lake </em>is most definitely Greg, by a long shot. He's a good looking guy that is most comfortable in jeans and boots, he is a nerd that earned a fortune by inventing a computer software that went viral, and he has a super cute personality. He reminds me of some of my own friends. This book has as sweet plot and is an intriguing, light, and funny read. It wasn't super intense, it wasn't very suspenseful, but I still really enjoyed it. This is what I call a "beach book". It's a book good for some good, old fashioned relaxation time. I loved how the story unfolded and I thought that the author has a really nice writing style. I would recommend this book to someone looking for a quick, lighthearted read.</div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<em>A Lady at Willowgrove Hall </em>is the third installment in the <em>Whispers on the Moors </em>series. I read the first two books in the series and I seriously loved them. I could not put them down. So, needless to say, when the opportunity presented itself to read this novel, I jumped on it. I had high expectations for this book, so I was a little disappointed when it started off kind of slow. For the first half of the book there wasn't much going on. Once things DID start happening, though, it was kind of a whirlwind. But, I can't really say that I was surprised by anything that happened. In all honesty it was kind of predictable. The characters didn't make a huge impression on me. I was really disappointed on how this book turned out. I mean, it's not BAD, per say, it's just not as good as I was expecting it to be after reading the first two books in this series. It's technically a good book, and I would probably be more praiseful of it if I hadn't read what this author is capable of in the past. I enjoyed it as a one time read, and would recommend it to someone looking for a laid back book to read on a weekend vacation or something.</div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am really glad that I took the time to read this book! I am not gonna lie, I was kind of expecting an almost boring biography, but thank heavens I was wrong. This book is more about how a teenager plummeted into fame kept her head on straight and didn't compromise on her values and how all teenagers can do the same and make a difference even with a smaller/different platform. It's nice to see that I'm not the only teenager in this world that hasn't gone freaking crazy. Believe it or not, people, there are young people out there that aren't interested in partying and drinking their lives away. I liked how there were little "challenges" at the end of each chapter. My favorite chapter in the book was the one on dating. With so many people it's one extreme or the other: mindlessly hooking up or straight out courtship. It was nice to get another perspective on things that I believe in as well. There CAN be a happy medium, you know. She had a lot of good ideas on how to keep a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship Christ centered without having a chaperone breathing down your neck at all times. Another thing I liked about this book is how plainly written it is. This girl dosen't sugar coat stuff, and I for one appreciate that. I prefer it when people get straight to the point (maybe because that's how I am with most things). I would highly recommend this book to teenage/preteen girls everywhere. </div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh my goodness. Where do I start? I LOVED this book! I read the first two books in <em>The Heart of San Francisco </em>and read them both in one setting. This one was no different. Julie Lessman is such a refined writer. Every scene is aptly described and well written. I felt like I was walking right along beside Morgan McClare. The plot wasn't like your same old historical fiction books that you're always reading. I feel like the story was original and the characters seemed very authentic as well. Especially Bram. Oh my goodness I just wanted to leap through the pages and give him a big hug. The way he treated Morgan was just so sweet. And I loved his constant use of the nickname he gave her. One of the things that I was greatly anticipating about this book was the continued story of Morgan's mother and uncle. Logan and Cait's relationship has been slowly growing and changing throughout the other books and I couldn't wait to see how that turned out. There were definitely some rough spots and there were times if I started to wonder if the author was gonna leave me hanging through another book (which I would be totally fine with me because it means another book in this charming series). I HIGHLY recommend this book and this series.</div>

<em>Three siblings forging new paths and finding love in three stories, filled with the wonder of Christmas<br /> <br />Turn back the clock to a different time, listen to Bing Crosby sing of sleigh bells in the snow, as the realities of America’s involvement in the Second World War change the lives of the Turner family in Lafayette, Indiana. <br /><br />In <strong>White Christmas</strong> by Cara Putman, Abigail Turner is holding down the Home Front as a college student and a part-time employee at a one-of-a-kind candy shop. I LOVE Christmas. I'm the type of person that will watch a hallmark Christmas movie marathon in the middle of July. I'm the type of person that goes around the house singing Christmas carols no matter the season. Whenever the opportunity to read a Christmas book presents itself, I jump on it. When I ordered <em>Where Treetops Glisten, </em>I was pretty excited because all three novellas in the collection are by authors that I had previously read. My favorite out of the three stories was definitely <em>I'll Be Home For Christmas </em>by Sarah Sundin. It was such a sweet story and the characters were just precious. The other two novellas included (<em>White Christmas </em>and <em>Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas</em>) however I was not so impressed with. I have read another Christmas novella by Tricia Goyer before, and I really liked it, but this one just wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be. And Cara Putman's just seemed thrown together. I really liked how Sarah Sundin took a short story and made it feel like you got all the facts in that you need to complete the story within a small amount of pages. It seems like a full length book because it was well written and thought out even though it was in reality very short. In general I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute little weekend holiday read.</div>

<div align="center">
<span id="freeText10855442058442109265"><em>The Old Testament Comes to Thrilling Life in the Latest from Lynn Austin<br /><br />In one life-changing moment, the lives of the Jewish exiles in Babylon are thrown into confusion and despair when a decree arrives from the king's palace in Susa. It calls for the annihilation of every Jewish man, woman, and child throughout the empire on the thirteenth day of Adar, in less than one year. Ezra, a quiet Jewish scholar and teacher, is suddenly called upon to lead the community as they seek God for a reason for this catastrophe. When a second decree arrives, authorizing them to fight back, Ezra is thrust into the role of military leader as they defend themselves against their enemies.<br /><br />When the battles come to an end, Ezra's brother Jude is dead and Ezra is required by the Law he so diligently studies to marry Jude's widow, Devorah, and provide an heir. Fatherhood changes Ezra, and he asks God to make a way for him and the other exiles to leave Babylon for good and return to Jerusalem. His prayers are answered and the exiles move to Judea to revitalize worship at the temple--but the fight to keep God's Law is never easy. As more and more of his community are tempted, a new battle emerges...this one for the survival of God's covenant and the souls of His chosen faithful.</em></span></div>

<em><strong>Book Review</strong></em></div>
<div align="center">
This book is a treasure. It's not very often that you find an author capable of mastering such a difficult genre, but let me tell you, Lynn Austin NAILED IT. This is possibly the best book that I have read all year. I loved getting a glimpse into the lives of God's people during the time of Ezra. Though I have of course read the story in the Bible many times, I feel like I got a whole new insight into the story through <em>Keepers of the Covenant</em>. I also read the first book in <em>The Restoration Chronicles,</em> and I really enjoyed it. One way the two books differ, though, is that book one (<em>Return to Me)<strong>, </strong></em>since focused on a different story, included a little bit more emphasis on witchcraft. It was not condoned or anything, and it was definitely required to properly tell the story, it was just something that I was not super comfortable with. <em>Keepers of the Covenant, </em>however, did not have that stuff in it, so I was glad about that. This book is very well written. It is very descriptive, deeply insightful, and quite the page turner. I look forward to rereading this again one day. It was a sweet reminder that God is in control, even when everything seems to be against you and you think there is no way out. After reading this there's a good chance I will go reread the account of Ezra in the Bible to see how this book measures up, so this novel is also encouraging me to spend time investigating these things for myself, as did the last book. These aren't the only books by Lynn Austin that I have read, in fact, I have read quite a few. This is one of my go-to authors because I know that if she wrote it that I will like it. I have yet to come across one of her books that I regret taking the time to read. I highly recommend this book and it's author to all Christian Fiction lovers.</div>

As she struggles to fit in during their extended stay, she finds a friend in James Sackett, the most valued steamship pilot of the Ballantynes' shipping line. Even with his help, Rowena feels she may never be comfortable in high society. <strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Rowena "Wren" Ballantyne is just a little slip of a girl that was raised in the mountains of Kentucky with a big story to tell. She comes from a wealthy and prosperous family in Pennsylvania that she doesn't even remember. She hasn't seen them since she was just a baby, and in all honesty she doesn't really want to go visit them now, but she isn't given much of a choice. When she gets to her grandfather's plantation, she is immediately stricken with culture shock. There was nothing even close to her simple back wood life here. Why, she couldn't even wear simple dresses around the grounds! She was uncomfortable, and she couldn't help but feel out of place. I don't want to share any more for fear of ruining the story for those of you who plan on reading it and just haven't gotten the chance to yet, but I will tell you that this book was just downright fabulous. It was super entertainging, has a very original plot, is quite suspenseful and is extremely well written. I have only read a few other books by this author, but so far I haven't been disappointed with any of them. "Love's Fortune" was no exception. I highly recommend this book to any one interested in historical fiction. I really, really enjoyed it and I think that anyone with a taste for good, Christian fiction will as well.</div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong><br />
If you have been following this blog for long, you know that I am a total Mary Connealy fan. Like, every time she releases a book, I get it. Never fails. She has a way of making stories set in another time seem some how . . . relevant. I already have a thing for cowboys, but her stories just seem to amplify that. I usually can't think of a single bad thing to say about any of her books, but sadly, this time I can. "Tried & True" just wasn't the same quality as some of her other work. I mean, it wasn't BAD, it was, in fact, good, but it wasn't GREAT. I was a little disappointed in it, if I'm being completely honest. I have come to expect more from such a well known Christian author. It just wasn't as suspenseful as I was expecting. There were times when it could be somewhat predictable, and it started to seem like all the other western fiction out there. There was nothing really to make it stick out. Now, that being said, it still had the professional style about it that I've come to love. It was a good, one time read, and I enjoyed it, but it is not exactly a new favorite. <br />

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This. Book. Is. AMAZING. I mean, Lee Strobel is the author, so I knew it was gonna be good, but seriously. It's REALLY GOOD. I know that whenever I pick up one of Strobel's titles that I'm in for a good, educational read, and that's why I rave about him all the time. He's consistent. I have yet to read one of his books that I did not absolutely love (and I have read all of them). He has a way of digging to the bottom of a problem to find the best and most accurate answer available. He doesn't cut corners. He doesn't lean toward one side or another when investigating a new subject, so you know that you are getting an unbiased opinion, an opinion that was formed on facts and reason. I think that's another reason why this author is so appealing. In so many ways God requires us to just have faith and know that He is God and trust that he has everything under control and know that He doesn't owe us answers. And I get that. We're only human, after all. We have a limited view of things, but God, HIS perspective is infinite. But He gives us more to go on than you think. If you have any doubts as to the origin of biblical principles, I beg you, read one of Lee Strobel's books. I STRONGLY recommend "The Case for a Creator", which is by far my favorite book of his. I hope that you will pick up something by this author next time you are at the bookstore. You can't go wrong with any of them, and I promise you won't regret it.</div>

<span id="freeText11602842470933995465"><em>In The Case for Christ and The Case for Faith student editions, Lee Strobel unfolds the compelling evidence that turned him from an atheist to a Christian. This leader s guide gives youth leaders and volunteers everything they need to take their youth group or Sunday school class through both books. Five riveting sessions per book (ten sessions total) will equip teens with persuasive reasons for their faith in Christ.<br /><br />Here s what groups can expect: Session 1 dramatically illustrates the importance of knowing the facts about Christianity. Sessions 2, 3 and 4 consider the important objections people raise to Christianity, and respond with an in-depth look at the evidence for belief in Jesus and the Christian faith. Session 5 takes groups from learning to application as they draw on what they ve learned in an actual evangelistic scenario. Leaders will also find a skit suitable for publicizing The Case for Christ sessions in church to both teens and parents.<br /><br />These powerful studies will boost the faith of teens, and their confidence to share it, to a whole new level.</em></span></div>

<strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love Lee Strobel. I have now read all of his books, and I recommend them all. His books are always very educational and quite convincing. He leaves no stone unturned on the subject at hand and leaves you with no questions unanswered. My favorite thing about "The Case for Christ" was how inquisitive the author was during his studies. Let me tell you something, this guy doesn't come to a conclusion just to satisfy what he thought he already knew. He asks the HARD questions, and sometimes gets answers that he doesn't like. He comes at this "Case for Christ" with an open mind and an unhindered perspective. He pushes for both sides to show all their facts and he double checks the accuracy of said facts before accepting them. This guy is crazy smart and I'm pretty sure that he could do anything he set his mind to. This book is a must have for Christians looking to deepen their faith AND for those who aren't so sure about this whole Jesus thing and want some answers connected to solid facts and reason. I really enjoyed reading yet another amazing book by Lee Strobel, and I hope to read more from him in the future.</div>

<span id="freeText7444062386230918969"><em>Bess Riehl is preparing Rose Hill Farm for her Christmas wedding, but her groom isn't who she thought it would be. Billy Lapp is far away from his Amish roots working as a rose rustler for Penn State and wants nothing to do with Stoney Ridge, his family, or Bess. And that suits Bess just fine. Why should she think twice about a man who left without a word, without any explanation? It's time she moved on with her life, and that meant saying yes to Amos Lapp, Billy's cousin and best friend. But as Bess and Amos's wedding day draws near, her emotions tangle into a tight knot. She loves Amos. Yet she can't forget Billy.<br /><br />When a "lost" rose is discovered at Rose Hill Farm, Billy is sent to track down its origins. Get in, identify the rose, and get out. That's his plan. The only catch is that he's having a hard time narrowing down the identity of the lost rose, and he can't get those tropical blue eyes of Bess Riehl out of his mind.<br /><br />As the history of the lost rose is pieced together, it reminds Bess and Billy--and Amos, too--that Christmas truly is the season of miracles.<br /><br />Join bestselling, award-winning author Suzanne Woods Fisher for an Amish Christmas to remember. <strong><em>Book Review</em></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have a confession to make. I am OBSESSED with Christmas. I am the type of person who will watch a Hallmark Christmas movie marathon in the middle of July. It's just such a sweet and sentimental time of year. I mean, who DOESN'T love Christmas? Christmas books are a one of my more extreme weaknesses. I just can't turn them down! I have ZERO self control when I see a Christmas title written by a well known christian author. This book was no different. "Christmas at Rose Hill Farm" is just a precious little novel. I loved the storyline. It was so neat to see how something as small as a rose could affect the entire story. It's quite original. The characters were interesting, and the setting was very relaxing. This is a good book to read before heading to bed. It's not super intense. It's slow and steady, while still keeping the reader's attention. My only complaint would be the lack of depth. There weren't many sub stories to enhance the overall reading experience, and I think that if it had contained a few more sub plots it would have greatly bettered the story in general. Overall it was a cute little book that I look forward to rereading during future holiday seasons. </div>
