W e l c o m e to The Literary Maiden blog! We are so glad that you took some time out of your busy day to come visit us. Here at TLM we review a wide variety of Christian books including mainly Christian fiction, historical fiction, biographies/autobiographies, memoirs, etc. as well as occasionally post book giveaways and author interviews. We also love to have guest reviews! If you are interested in doing a guest book review on our blog please contact us.
We hope that this blog would be a blessing to you as you read that the book reviews would be helpful to you, and that you would be blessed by the author interviews and book giveaways we host. We are so glad that you decided to stop by! Here is a bit about the ladies behind the blog!

Hi everyone! My name is Madilyn Leatherwood and I am one of the ladies who writes for The Literary Maidens.
I'm a teenage girl born and raised in the great state of Texas (yup, Southern to the bone!). I have always loved to read, I remember when I was little I had only two novels; Black Beauty and Little Women. I read those two books so much that I almost had them memorized, in fact my paperback version of Little Women that I used to carry with me everywhere is falling apart. Of course I have a larger reading selection now, along with a membership to the church library. So I have decided to share my reading experiences with you all, along the way.
Some of my favorite genres are Christian Fiction, Christian Fantasy, Historical/Fiction and the occasional children's book ;) . I will read the occasional biography, but unless it's on someone that I absolutely ADORE (Such as Tim Tebow, Billy Graham and Nick Vujicic), I would really rather be reading fiction. I hope that my reviews are helpful to you (that is why I write them, ya know!). Love and blessings. ~Madi

Hi there! My name is Bethany and I am first of all a Daughter of the King of kings, Jesus Christ and the oldest kid in my family of 8. I am an avid reader and am always reading something. Nothing gets me more excited than getting a book in the mail, whether it be from a review company, Paper Back Swap, or from a giveaway I won, and you should really see my "happy dance" when I see a new book available at the library that I've been desperately wanting to read. It's quite comical, and I'm sure it gives the librarians a kick. ;)
My favorite genres are Christian fiction, historical fiction, biographies/memoirs, inspiration fiction/non-fiction and the like. Some of my favorite authors {in no particular order} are: Julie Klassen, Mary Connealy, Anne Mateer, Beverly Lewis, Lisa Bergren, Siri Mitchell, Chuck Black, Martha Finley, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Sandra Byrd, Tamara Alexander, Jody Hedlund, and Elizabeth Prentiss to name a few. I am asked all the time what my favorite book is, and to be honest I honestly couldn't ever pick just one, but my top favorites would be The Bible, The Life of Faith series by Martha Finley, The River of Time Series by Lisa Bergren, Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss, A Lasting Impression by Tamara Alexander, The Kincaid Brides Series by Mary Connealy, and The Tutor's Daughter by Julie Klassen.
I hope and pray that this blog would be a wonderful resource for all you friends and readers who also love to read. I have experienced first-hand how helpful it is to have friends who share their thoughts on books, and many times that has saved me from reading a book I wouldn't have read, having known what the book was about or knowing some of the things in it that I try and stay away from, and hope that I can turn that blessing around and pass it on to you in my reviews. Thanks for stopping by and God bless you!
