Hello There Fellow Book Lovers!
Welcome to TLM's "The Quote Book" for the month of July, 2013! Another month of 2013 has come and gone, and we have a new collection of book quotes for you. Bethany and I (Madi) both keep book journals with us when we are reading, and each month we share some of the quotes that we record in our journals with you! If you decide to do your own rendition of "The Quote Book" on your blog or website, leave a comment or shoot us an email with the link! We would love to hear from you! It's a rather long post, so settle down with a cup of tea in your favorite reading chair. We hope that you enjoy these quotes from some of our favorite authors/books, and y'all have a wonderful month!

" 'How'd you get so smart about women, boss?' 'Same way you did. Stickin' my foot in my mouth, one woman at a time.' "
~ pg 31 of Prairie Song By Mona Hodgson

"I read more out of desperation than spiritual fervor."
~ pg 118 of Prairie Song By Mona Hodgson

"Love believes all things, hopes for all things, Cora. God loves us. He'll see us through."
~ pg 36 of Glamorous Illusions By Lisa Bergren

"I require simple things. You, my children of dust, always complicate matters."
~ pg 92 of King By R.J Larson

"When in doubt, practice good manners."
~ pg 93 of King By R.J Larson

"But i think what separates the Robertsons from a lot of other families is our faith in God and love for each other. It's unconditional, and it has been that way for as long as I can remember. For me, the most dramatic part of every Duck Dynasty episode comes at the end, when our family gathers around the dinner table to eat one of Miss Kay's home-cooked meals. You don't see families gathering up like that anymore. Everybody in America is so busy, busy, busy. Americans are too preoccupied with their cell phones and computers, so they don't take the time to sit down with their spouses, children, grandchildren, aunts and  uncles, and grandparents to eat a meal together. The family structure is slipping away from America."
~ pg 2 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"I learned to cook when I was young, and most of my meals started with something I killed. I have a God-given right to pursue happiness, and happiness to me is killing things, skinning them, plucking them, and then having a good meal. What makes me happy is going out and blowing a duck's head off. As it says in Acts 10:13 (KJV), and there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. Rise, kill, and eat - that's my modus operandi."
~ pg 38 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"The more makeup a woman wears, the more she's trying to hide; makeup can hide a lot of evil." ~ pg 53 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"Women are a lot like ducks - they don't like mud on their butts."
~ pg 54 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"It's amazing what a little redneck engineering can do."
~ pg 115 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"It's like Jase says: when you don't know what you're doing, it's best to do it quickly."
~ pg 117 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"I don't care if I'm talking to one person or one thousand; if I can help save one lost soul and bring him back to Jesus, it's well worth it to me."
~ pg 196 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"If you really love someone and want to tell them what God has done for us, there's no way to escape without being persecuted. I usually tell anyone I talk to that I'm going to share the gospel because I love them. I tell them it's not contingent on how they feel about me. If they hate me, I'm not going to hold it against them. If they don't like me, they can walk away. But I have to love my enemies."
~ pg 199 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"After studying several political parties to find out what they believe and stand for, I decided my political ideology was more in line with the republicans. I definitely was no democrat - that's for sure - but I don't really consider myself one or the other. I'm more of a Christocrat, someone who honors our founding fathers and pays them homage for being Godly men at a time when wickedness was all over the world. Our founding fathers started this country and built it on God and his word, and this country sure would be a better place to live and raise our children if we still followed their ideals and beliefs."
~ pg 205 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"Today our government is saying the democracy will thrive if you take from those who are willing to work and give to those who aren't. I have to pay more taxes so that everything can be free for those people who don't want to work? It's nonsense."
~ pg 208 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"My reading of history has convinced me that most bad government comes from too much government."
~ pg 209 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"Without the Bible as a blueprint for living our lives, I'm not surprised to see our country struggling so mightily."
~ pg 212 of Happy, Happy, Happy By Phil Robertson

"She wasn't actually our aunt, but in the South, when you're a kid you've got to put something in front of the name of any adult you talk to. It's a sign of respect, and having good manners is a big thing for us Southerners."
~ pg 11 of The Duck Commander Family By Willie and Korie Robertson

"For you see, in his wisdom he understood that it was not the outward threats that were most deadly, but the inward pollutants and evil influences that attack the heart and the mind."
~ pg 20 of "Before You Meet Prince Charming" By Sarah Mally

"The decisions we make in our youth play a huge role in determining our future."
~ pg  22 of "Before You Meet Prince Charming" By Sarah Mally

"He wanted her to always think of him as her best friend, but he wanted to be the love of her life, and that was going to be the most difficult challenge he had ever faced."
~ pg @ 28% of Gentleman Of Her Dreams By Jen Turano

"My daughter, thy role is not to fit into the world - but to change it."
~ pg 31 of Before You Meet Prince Charming By Sarah Mally

"I can think of no more dangerous position than to learn to tolerate evil in order to become accustomed to reality."
~ pg 46 of Before You Meet Prince Charming By Sarah Mally

"Sometimes, she wished the Lord would knock her over with sweetness and goodness, because she didn't seem to be getting the knack of it on her own."
~ pg 92 of The Letters By Suzanne Fisher

God is at the top of the triangle, while you and your future husband are at the corner points at the bottom. The closer each of you becomes to God, the shorter the distance between the two of you. By praying for the man you will one day marry, you are drawing closer t the Lord."
